Old Country Buffet Salmonella Outbreak

In February of 2014, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDOH) announced that it had linked a Salmonella outbreak among 23 people to food served at the Old Country Buffet in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

According to MDOH, 11 of the 23 people who complained of abdominal cramping, fever and diarrhea after eating at the Old Country Buffet location in late January tested positive for Salmonella. One person was hospitalized.

The Old Country Buffet location in Maple Grove was inspected and cleared to stay open. As of February 25, health officials had not determined the source of Salmonella contamination in the restaurant.
